After drug welfare management agency Cigna Group said that the growth rate of GLP-1 prescription drugs slowed in the second quarter and expected sales to be “slightly lower” in the second half of the year, Lilly's stock price fell as high as 4.5% in the intraday period, the biggest one-day intraday decline since April. Cigna Chief Financial Officer Ann Dennison said in the earnings conference call: “In the second quarter, we observed a slowdown in GLP-1 growth because the level of protection declined slightly and the growth rate of usage was slower than the previous high. We expect this trend to continue throughout the rest of the year and have included it in our full-year performance outlook.”
