On August 1, Yemen's Houthi Humanitarian Action Coordination Center in Sana'a denied rumors about plans to levy tolls in the Mander Strait, saying that it is completely free to pass through the Mander Strait. The coordination center issued a statement saying that its safe passage service for ships is completely free, that all ships outside the scope of the ban can pass safely, and that it provides email addresses for vessels to apply for safe passage services. The statement stressed that any individual or entity requesting payment from a ship on the grounds of passing through the Mander Strait does not represent the Yemeni side.
