The Haikou Joint Investigation Team reported on August 3 that recently, some netizens posted on an online social networking platform reporting issues such as “some law enforcement officials have seized and concealed dangerous goods and it is difficult to file a case,” “there are loopholes in port production safety supervision,” and “law enforcement officials have been treated unfairly.” The Haikou Municipal Committee and Municipal Government attached great importance to this and set up a joint investigation team composed of public security, judicial, emergency, maritime and organizational personnel departments to carry out investigation and inspection work. The public security authorities opened a case to investigate and punish dangerous goods in accordance with the law in June of this year; in response to hidden production safety risks at Haikou Port, the relevant departments of Haikou City are carrying out a 100-day special “clean up the source and eliminate hazards” on the basis of normalized supervision to strictly investigate and strictly control them; the investigation team is investigating and understanding the reported personal issues.
