12:02 AM EDT, 08/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Aston Martin Lagonda Global (AML.L) received a warning of legal action from existing creditors over the potential partial sale of its branding and naming rights as part of a debt financing deal with BlackRock's private credit firm HPS, London's Financial Times reported Monday. Citing a "letter before action" sent to the Aston Martin board on Sunday, the newspaper said the creditors flagged a possible lawsuit to unwind the 550 million-pound-sterling transaction with HPS and stop the inclusion of certain intellectual property assets in the deal. The letter reportedly followed the creditors' discovery that 50.1% of Aston Martin's non-automotive intellectual property will be sold to HPS-backed US brand developer Authentic Brands as part of the financing package. The group lent the London-listed luxury car group a total of 1.3 billion pounds, the report noted. Aston Martin did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
