On August 4, Counterpoint Research released the latest global storage tracking report showing that in the second quarter of 2026, Samsung returned to the top of the global DRAM market with 39% market share, returning to the 2024 level. SK Hynix and Micron followed, with market shares of 26% and 25% respectively. Meanwhile, Changxin Storage became the fastest growing DRAM manufacturer in the world. Revenue increased 716% year over year, mainly benefiting from strong demand for traditional DRAM in the Chinese market and continued expansion of production capacity. Neil Shah, vice president of research at Counterpoint Research, said that in the second half of 2026, if Changxin Storage can expand production capacity to meet domestic and foreign market needs, its market share is expected to increase further, and the market pattern may change accordingly.
