The US Department of Defense announced on the 3rd that it has reached two framework agreements with US Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin to increase production capacity for the “Patriot Advanced Capabilities-3” missiles and “Saad” anti-missile systems. The Pentagon said in a statement that by expanding the production capacity of key missile interceptor components, the two framework agreements will be able to triple the production of “Patriot Advanced Capabilities-3” missiles and triple the production of the “Saad” anti-missile systems to stabilize the interceptor system supply chain. According to the statement, the framework agreement will establish a second supply source for solid rocket engines for the “Patriots Advanced Capabilities-3” missile and increase the production of missile ignition safety devices; it will triple the production of structural components of the “Saad” anti-missile system, including key components such as the shell in the middle of the projectile, the launch cylinder cover, and guide rail components.
