According to the Nvidia blog, with the opening of the annual Black Hat Security Conference in Las Vegas today, members of the Open Security AI Alliance are formulating new guidelines to strengthen the cybersecurity protection of intelligent AI. Currently, the alliance has more than 120 organizations as members. The Linux Foundation today released a draft for comments on the “Shared AI Discovery Exchange Guide”. This is a proposed set of guidelines aimed at transforming cybersecurity incidents in the field of intelligent AI into protective capabilities shared by the entire ecosystem. The SAFE Guidelines were drafted by the Open Safety AI Alliance Working Group. Alliance members including Nvidia, Cisco Systems, CrowdStrike, Hugging Face, and Red Hat are working with the Linux Foundation to support the initial proposal. The SAFE guidelines include a number of recommended measures, including: collecting and analyzing AI security incidents and “attempted incidents” in a confidential manner; notifying affected parties; identifying recurring security control failures; and issuing evidence-based operational recommendations to reduce overall system risk.
