Since the beginning of summer, due to the cool climate of the plateau and the visa-free entry policy, Yunnan has become a popular destination for overseas tourists to travel and stay in the summer. According to the latest data, as of August 1, the total number of visitors entering Yunnan Province this year has exceeded 990,000. In July alone, the number of inbound and outbound foreigners inspected at Kunming Port reached 81,000. More than half of them were summer vacationers. The inbound travel market showed a distinct “summer program” characteristic. According to the Kunming entry/exit border checkpoint, many parts of the northern hemisphere experienced continuous extreme heat this summer. With its stable cool climate and rich cultural tourism resources, Yunnan attracted overseas tourists to take a summer vacation. Since the summer travel season, 56.2% of foreign tourists have visited China to escape the heat, changing the previous “business-oriented” passenger flow structure.
