In terms of sectors, industries and concepts such as electronic specialty gases, industrial gases, fluorochemicals, coal mining, targets, electronic chemicals, and precious metals registered the highest gains; industries and concepts such as blood products, AI corpus, skits/interactive games, securities, batteries, education, etc. registered the highest declines.

driving factors

The trend of the Shanghai Index was stronger than that of the Shenzhen Index and the GEM Index. It hit an intraday high of 3902.05 points, surpassing the July 22 intraday high of 3884.44 points and setting a new intraday high. The coal sector continued to strengthen throughout the day. Haohua Energy, Huaibei Mining, Pingmei Co., Ltd., Yankuang Energy, and Lu'an Huaneng rose and stopped, while the coal mining sector rose 4.56%, making it the most prominent weighted sector of the day.

The direction of electronic specialty gas and industrial gases continues to be strong, with HBM, 3D NAND and advanced manufacturing processes increasing the wafer usage per unit of wet electronic chemicals and electronic specialty gases, catalyzing the rise in prices of key materials such as tungsten hexafluoride. China Shipbuilding Special Gas disclosed investor relations records that tungsten hexafluoride implemented an independent pricing strategy based on supply and demand in the third quarter, and the product's revenue increased nearly threefold year-on-year in the first half of the year. The fluorine chemical sector is active. Prices of mainstream refrigerants such as R32 and R134a rose month-on-month in the third quarter, and spot prices of fluorite continued to rise. International gold prices rose overnight, and the precious metals sector was boosted.

Technology sectors such as semiconductors and communication equipment rebounded after opening sharply lower in early trading, but fell again in the afternoon. After rising more than 2% in early trading, the increase narrowed to 0.45%.

Popular sector aspects

1. Electronics/Industrial Gases: The sector led the market strongly throughout the day, with Shudao equipment rising and stopping 20CM, CJU-U 20CM, and Yuangas. Guangzhou Steel Gas, CSIC, and Walter Gas all rose more than 10% in the intraday period, with closing gains of 6.94%/7.57%/8.71%, respectively. HBM, 3D NAND and advanced process technology have increased the wafer usage per unit of electronic gas and precursor, and prices of key materials such as tungsten hexafluoride have risen. Furthermore, Japan's Kanto Denka and Central Glass permanently stopped production on July 1, leaving a total of about 2,200 tons of high-end tungsten hexafluoride production capacity, accounting for about 25% of the world's high-end semiconductor supply.

2. Coal: The coal mining sector rose 4.56%, Haohua Energy, Huaibei Mining, Pingmei Co., Ltd., Yankuang Energy, and Lu'an Huaneng rose and stopped, and Dayou Energy rose 9.95%. The coal sector continued to fluctuate upward throughout the day, making it the strongest performing weighted sector of the day.

3. Fluorine chemicals/small metals: The target material sector rose 7.71%; Zhongxin Fluoride, Polyfluoride, and Binhua shares rose and stopped in the direction of fluorine chemicals; in the direction of small metals, Yunnan Germanium and New Research Materials rose and stopped. Changxie's current exchange price for refrigerant R32 in the third quarter was 65,100 yuan/ton, up about 2,900 yuan/ton from the second quarter; the spot price of fluorite rose to 3,475 yuan/ton, with a cumulative increase of about 3% in January.
