This is the first mandatory national standard for water quotas for high-water consumption industries formulated by China for the Yellow River Basin. The standard clarifies the calculation methods, index values and management requirements of mandatory water quotas for industries related to the Yellow River Basin. It will provide an important technical basis for implementing water intake licensing systems, implementing planned water management and carrying out water resource verification and water saving evaluations in the Yellow River Basin. It is of great significance in strengthening water quota management, promoting water-saving transformation in high-water consumption industries, and strengthening the conservation and intensive use of water resources.
