According to the news, Berkshire Hathaway's operating performance grew steadily in the second quarter, while at the same time significantly speeding up share buybacks. On August 8, the latest data released by Berkshire showed that operating profit for the second quarter of 2026 was US$12.983 billion, up about 16% from US$11.160 billion in the same period last year; operating profit for the first half of the year reached US$24.329 billion, an increase of about 17% over the previous year. At the same time, the company repurchased about 4.5 billion US dollars of treasury shares in the second quarter, and the cumulative repurchase scale in the first half of the year was about 4.8 billion US dollars. The repurchase intensity was significantly higher than before.

Benefiting from a sharp recovery in unrealized earnings from the stock portfolio, GAAP net profit almost doubled year-on-year to US$25.667 billion in the second quarter, up about 107% from US$12.370 billion in the same period last year. Net profit for the first half of the year was US$35.773 billion, up about 111% year over year.
