Hong Kong stock opening | Hang Seng Index opened 0.24%, KeNet shares split, Alibaba-W (09988) rose more than 2%, and gold stocks strengthened

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on August 11, the Hang Seng Index rose 0.24% to 25998.59 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index rose 0.27% to 4932.81 points; and the State-owned Enterprises Index rose 0.37% to 8654.06 points.

On the market, the performance of TechNet stocks was divided. Alibaba-W (09988) rose more than 2%, NetEase - SW (09999) rose nearly 2%, Meituan-W (03690) almost flat; Xiaomi Group-W (01810) fell nearly 1%, and JD Group-SW (09618) fell 0.46%. Driven by an overnight increase of 1.65% in the China Futures Golden Dragon Index, Alibaba and other Chinese securities opened higher.

Gold stocks strengthened. Shandong Gold (01787) rose more than 2%, and Zhaojin Mining (01818) rose more than 2%. Overnight, COMEX gold futures rose 1.11%, driving the gold sector to open higher.

The semiconductor sector weakened, with Huahong Semiconductor (01347) falling nearly 1% and SMIC (00981) falling nearly 1%. Dragged down by the overnight Philadelphia Semiconductor Index falling nearly 3% and Nvidia falling 2.87%.

Petroleum stocks strengthened. China National Offshore Oil (00883) rose nearly 2%, and international oil prices surged by more than 5% overnight.

Hong Kong stocks opened slightly higher today, driven by the divergence of trends in US stocks overnight, the strengthening of the China Securities Golden Dragon Index, and the rise in both gold and oil prices.
