Asia Stocks Mixed as Hormuz in Focus

Stock futures were little changed early Tuesday as investors weighed signs of progress toward reopening the Strait of Hormuz against lingering
doubts that the U.S. and Iran can reach a broader resolution to the conflict.

Markets in Japan were shuttered for memorials.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng backpedaled 284.67 points, or 1.1%, to 25,682.82.

In other markets;

In Shanghai, the CSI index slid 38.24 points, or 0.8%, to 4,663.79.

In Korea, the Kospi index gained 45.87 points, or 0.7%, to 6,345.53

In Taiwan, the Taiex index rallied 191.96 points, or 0.4%, to 45,120.72.

In New Zealand, the NZX 50 fell 27.58 points, or 0.2%, to 13,860.66.

In Australia, the ASX recovered 17.94 points, or 0.2%, to 9,250.57.
