The China-Indonesia Local Government Cooperation Dialogue was successfully held at the Yogyakarta City Hall on the 11th, co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Chinese Consulate General in Surabaya, the Asia Pacific region and the Indonesian city government of Yogyakarta. Nearly 200 people attended, including Yang Wanming, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Ye Su, Chinese Consul General in Surabaya, and representatives of 27 local governments and 18 enterprises from 12 provinces in China, Bernadia Jandradevi, the Asia-Pacific Secretary General of the World Cities and Local Government Joint Organization, and key leaders and representatives from 15 local governments in Indonesia, as well as representatives of Indonesian friendship organizations, enterprises, and universities. Yang Wanming said that China and Indonesia are good neighbors and good partners with a common destiny across the sea. Over the years, thanks to the joint efforts of all sectors of the two sides, the friendship between the two countries has continued to deepen, and local government cooperation has been fruitful, bringing tangible benefits to the local people. Local governments in China and Indonesia should focus on practical cooperation, service strategies to connect with the overall development situation; cultivate cultural exchanges and cultivate the foundation of a friendly society for generations; consolidate multilateral platforms and gather joint efforts for regional collaborative development. The theme of the dialogue session was “Sailing Sailing, Local Cooperation to Help China and Indonesia Build a Community of Destiny”. Delegates had in-depth exchanges on topics such as governing the country, reducing poverty, practical cooperation, cultural exchanges, and local governance, discussing new ways of cooperation, sharing experiences in friendship cities, signing a number of cooperation documents and publishing joint initiatives. Delegates at the conference agreed that local cooperation is a strong support for the development of bilateral relations. They are willing to continue the traditional friendship between the two countries, promote practical cooperation between the two countries to achieve more results, contribute to building a common destiny between China and Indonesia, and benefit the people of the two countries.
