Illustrating the strong demand among artificial intelligence hardware companies for Silicon Valley manufacturing space even before it’s built, a unit of Taiwan-based MiTAC Holdings Corp. has committed to the second phase of the new Campus at Bayside, a nearly 470,000-square-foot development in Fremont, reported the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Phase II has not yet launched construction, and MiTAC’s server manufacturing business has already leased the project’s first three buildings, which are nearing completion.

MiTAC already has a substantial presence in Fremont, which accounted for 75% of Silicon Valley’s advanced manufacturing leasing activity last year and continues to attract companies building AI infrastructure, the Business Journal reported. It has leased nearly 350,000 square feet at Fremont Technology Center, which was delivered in early 2025.

The company’s expansion reflects surging investment in the hardware behind AI and cloud computing, reported the Business Journal. Global technology spending is expected to reach nearly $6.4 trillion in 2026, up 14.2% year-over-year, according to research and advisory firm Gartner.
