Hong Kong stock opening | Hang Seng Index opened 0.6% lower, gold stocks strengthened, and Zedeng Pharmaceutical (09688) rose more than 8%

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on August 12, the Hang Seng Index opened 0.6% lower to 25498.39 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 0.8% to 4785.75 points; and the State-owned Enterprises Index fell 0.57% to 8479.60 points. The market traded HK$2.170 billion in pre-market sales.

Gold stocks strengthened. Zijin Gold International (02259) rose more than 2%, China Gold International (02099) rose more than 2%, Lingbao Gold (03330) rose more than 2%, Old Store Gold (06181) rose nearly 2%, and Shandong Gold (01787) rose more than 1%.

Pharmaceutical stocks strengthened, with Zaiding Pharmaceutical (09688) rising more than 8%, and Pharmacoming (02268) rising more than 1%. Driven by Zaiding Pharma's overnight rise of more than 10% in US stocks.

Some individual AI and semiconductor concept stocks strengthened. MINIMAX-W (00100) rose nearly 3%, Cambridge Technology (06166) rose more than 2%, Lanqi Technology (06809) rose more than 2%, and GigaYi Innovation (03986) rose more than 2%. Overnight, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 0.87%.

Most of KeNet stocks fell, with Alibaba-W (09988) falling more than 1%, JD Group-SW (09618) falling more than 1%, NetEase - SW (09999) falling more than 1%, Tencent Holdings (00700) falling more than 1%, Meituan-W (03690) falling nearly 1%, and Xiaomi Group-W (01810) falling nearly 1%.

Hong Kong stocks opened lower today, dragged down by the three major US stock indices, which closed down across the board and the China Securities Golden Dragon Index falling by 2.94%.
