Asiana Airlines held an extraordinary shareholders' meeting on August 12 to vote to pass the merger with Korean Air. The two companies will officially merge as “Korean Air” on December 17 this year. After Korean Air officially announced the acquisition of Asiana Airlines in November 2020, it went through merger reviews by domestic and foreign competition departments to advance the process required for the merger.
