Zhitong Finance App News, Hengrui Pharmaceutical (01276) issued an announcement. Recently, Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) and its subsidiary Fujian Shengdi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. received approval from the State Drug Administration (hereinafter referred to as the “State Drug Administration”) to issue a “Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice” for HRS-4729 injections, which will conduct clinical trials in the near future.

HRS-4729 injection is a polypeptide drug independently developed by the company. It is a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) /glucose-dependent insulin-stimulating peptide receptor (GIPR) /glucagon receptor (GCGR) triple agonist. HRS-4729 can activate GLP-1R, GIPR, and GCGR to suppress appetite, delay gastric emptying, enhance insulin sensitivity, and promote energy consumption in the body, thereby achieving the goals of weight loss, blood sugar control, and improving carbohydrate metabolism, and ultimately achieving the effect of treating type 2 diabetes. Currently, phase II clinical trials for weight loss are also underway, and no similar drugs have been approved for marketing at home or abroad. Up to now, HRS 4729 injection-related projects have invested about 81.6 million yuan in R&D (unaudited).
