Over the same period, China's imports and exports to Germany increased 7.6% year on year. Among them, exports increased by 14.8%, while imports contracted 1.7%. While China's dependence on imports from Germany is declining, many European countries are speeding up to make up for their positions. Preliminary data recently released by the German Federal Agency for Foreign Trade and Investment also shows that in January-June of this year, German exports to China fell by more than 12% year on year, to slightly less than 37 billion euros, making China the ninth largest export market in Germany in 2021.
