The $400 million project will combine a seawater reverse-osmosis plant with an integrated salt production line, according to a Wednesday release. The facility aims to produce 62,500 cubic meters of desalinated water per day and 500,000 tons of high-purity industrial salt per year. The Saudi utility company will leverage its desalination project development expertise, technology, financing structure, as well as engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance capabilities, while Garam will handle site preparations, project access and permits, among others.
