Home Depot announced on August 12 that Chairman, President and CEO Ted Decker will be on temporary medical leave and is expected to return to work within the next few months. The board adopted Decker's recommendations and appointed senior executive Ann-Marie Campbell to be responsible for day-to-day operations, Richard McPhail for financial management and the PRO subsidiary, and independent chief director Greg Brenneman to chair the board during his leave. As the world's largest home improvement retailer, Home Depot operated 2,361 retail stores and more than 1,280 SRS outlets by the end of the first quarter, with a total of over 470,000 employees, covering the entire United States and territories, 10 Canadian provinces, and Mexico.
