When AI is integrated into everyday life, the appetite for computing power is amazing: a “10,000 card cluster” swallows at least 200,000 kilowatts of electricity a day. According to estimates, the country's computing power consumption will reach 800 billion kilowatt-hours by 2030. The future of artificial intelligence is not only a “calculation” competition, but also an “electricity” competition. Computing power is running wild, and green electricity is backing up. By the end of June, China's non-fossil energy power generation installed capacity was 2.52 billion kilowatts, accounting for 62.4% of the total installed capacity. China's new electricity demand is almost entirely met by green electricity. Within the eight major hubs of East Digital and Western Computing, the usage rate of green electricity in large green computing power clusters continues to rise. Newly built data centers in Inner Mongolia, Lingle, and Qingyang in Gansu account for more than 80% of green electricity consumption, and 172 computing power centers across the country have passed green and low-carbon 4A certification. Today, the East Digital and Western Computing Project has leveraged trillion-level social investment to effectively solve problems such as high computing power consumption and fluctuations in new energy generation. The green energy base is supporting China's AI's global competitiveness.
