Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu explained at a press conference on the “Getting Started” series held by the Information Office of the State Council on August 13 that the quality of China's ecological environment has continued to improve since this year, and the main indicators have improved markedly. From January to July, the country's fine particulate matter concentration fell 1.8 ug/m3 year on year, a decrease of 6.2%; the proportion of good days increased 3.9 percentage points year on year. The proportion of surface water class I to III water quality sections reached 86.5%, an increase of 2.4 percentage points over the previous year.
