Today, the Information Office of the State Council held a series of press conferences on the theme of “Starting with the 15th Five-Year Plan”. At the conference, it was explained that during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will take more vigorous measures to promote digital intelligence transformation and further improve the quality and efficiency of ecological environment supervision, focusing on monitoring and law enforcement. At the conference, it was explained that the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will comprehensively implement digital intelligence upgrade projects in traditional fields such as the atmosphere, water, and oceans, and promote the intelligent upgrading of instruments and equipment at state-controlled stations. On the atmospheric side, the application of artificial intelligence prediction models will be increased and the air quality forecasting platform will be upgraded. It is expected that by 2030, the accuracy rate of 72-hour PM2.5 weather forecasting in the country will increase to more than 80%. On the water side, a number of automatic sampling stations will be built, a fleet of unmanned marine vessels will be formed, and the traditional monitoring operation model will be completely revolutionized. In emerging fields such as solid waste and new pollutants, the application and promotion of new technologies and models will be accelerated. For example, meter-level and sub-meter-class satellites are used to carry out normalized remote sensing investigations to accurately target illegal solid waste disposal sites. Monitoring of new pollutants relies on existing monitoring stations for surface water, ocean, etc., and simultaneous sampling and sample delivery to achieve synergy of multi-medium and multi-index monitoring at a lower cost.
