The Future Science Prize Judging Committee announced the 2026 winners on August 13. Zhang Hong, a researcher at the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, won the “Life Science Award” for his pioneering contributions in revealing autophagy mechanisms and physiological functions unique to multicellular organisms; Fudan University professor Zhao Dongyuan won the “Physical Science Award” for his pioneering contributions to mesoporous materials; and Yuan Xinyi, a professor at Peking University's Beijing International Mathematical Research Center, won the “Mathematics and Computer Science Award” for his groundbreaking contributions in the field of arithmetic geometry.
