According to Woofun AI, in response to recent sell-off rumors circulating in the market, Simon Gerovich (Simon Gerovich), CEO of the Japanese Bitcoin hosting company Metaplanet, clearly refuted the rumor, stressing that the company did not sell any Bitcoin assets.

According to data compiled by Woofun AI, Metaplanet transferred 5,014 bitcoins to other addresses within 24 hours starting Wednesday, involving a value of about US$322 million, while the on-chain network fee for this operation was only $8. As the third largest publicly listed Bitcoin custodian in the world and the largest similar company in Asia, Metaplanet is still carrying about 1.4 billion US dollars in unrealized losses on its books.

The more critical variable is its strategic expansion. As early as March, the company established the MetaPlanetVentures Fund, which plans to invest 4 billion yen (about 25 million US dollars) over the next two to three years to focus on investing in Bitcoin and related cryptographic infrastructure in Japan.

Looking at long-term holding goals, Metaplanet's plan is clear: it is committed to increasing its Bitcoin holdings to 100,000 by the end of 2026, and further reaching 210,000 by the end of 2027. This aggressive path of increasing holdings shows that short-term capital flows are only a regular part of building Asia's largest crypto asset reserve.
