The Zhitong Finance App learned that Electric Energy Industry (00006) rose nearly 3% after the results. As of press release, it had risen 2.62% to HK$58.8, with a turnover of HK$162 million.

According to the news, on August 12, Electric Energy Industrial announced its 2026 interim results. The group obtained revenue of HK$298 million, a year-on-year decrease of 15.34%; profit attributable to the company's shareholders of HK$14.704 billion, an increase of 383.37% over the previous year; profit per share of HK$6.9, and an interim dividend of HK$0.78 per share.

UBS released a research report stating that Electric Energy Industries' performance in the first half of the year was generally in line with expectations. The interim dividend remained unchanged at HK78 HK cents per share, and no special dividend was paid. According to the bank's estimates, after deducting sales proceeds from the sale of the UK Power Network and British Railways and other one-time items, the first half of the year's recurrent profit, excluding discontinued operations, increased 16% year-on-year on the same basis. UBS expects the market to respond moderately to slightly positively, lowering the 2026-2028 recurring profit forecast by 11% to 12%, mainly reflecting the impact of sales of the UK electricity network and British Rail, partially offset by higher interest income from sales proceeds.
