Fosun Pharmaceutical (02196): Fosun Pharmaceutical Industry launches phase II clinical trial of FXS7553 for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in China

Zhitong Finance App News, Fosun Pharmaceutical (02196) issued an announcement. Recently, Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Industry Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Fosun Pharmaceutical Industry”), a holding subsidiary of Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”), initiated a phase II clinical trial on FXS7553 (original project code: XH-S004) for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in China.

FXS7553 is a small molecule oral DPP-1 inhibitor independently developed by the Group (i.e. the Company and its holding subsidiaries/units, the same below). It is intended to treat non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc. As of the date of this announcement (i.e. August 13, 2026, same below), another indication of FXS7553 (treatment of non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis) is in phase II clinical trials in China.

As of July 2026, the Group's cumulative R&D investment for FXS7553 at this stage is approximately RMB 151 million (unaudited).

As of the date of this announcement, no drug with the same molecular mechanism has been approved for marketing in China.
