The Zhitong Finance App learned that on Thursday, IREN Ltd (IREN.US) stock price rose. As of press release, the stock had risen more than 6.5% to 46.51 US dollars. According to the news, the company previously announced that the first AI cloud computing project built for Microsoft (MSFT.US) has been delivered and officially accepted by Microsoft. At the same time, IREN has also obtained “Exemplar Cloud” certification from Nvidia (NVDA.US), further verifying the ability of its AI infrastructure to handle high-intensity AI workloads.

IREN said that the Horizon 1 project, which was delivered this time, is located in the Childress campus in Texas, USA, and is the first of the four AI cloud computing projects that the company plans to deliver to Microsoft in 2026.

Each project has an IT load capacity of 50 megawatts (MW) and uses direct chip liquid cooling technology to meet the cooling and energy efficiency requirements of high-performance AI computing.

The above project is a five-year cloud service contract announced by IREN and Microsoft in November 2025, with a total contract value of 9.7 billion US dollars. Horizon 1 successfully passed Microsoft's acceptance, which means that this large-scale AI cloud service agreement has begun to enter the actual delivery stage.

In addition to the progress of the Microsoft project, IREN also announced that it has obtained Nvidia's “Exemplar Cloud” certification.

Nvidia tested iREN's GB300 NVL72 system deployed on Horizon 1 to verify the platform's ability to run demanding AI workloads.

The GB300 NVL72 is a high-performance computing platform built by Nvidia for large-scale AI training and inference. This certification from Nvidia also provides further technical endorsement for IREN to provide AI computing power services to large technology companies.

As Microsoft projects begin delivery, IREN is still advancing large-scale AI cloud infrastructure expansion plans.

The company's current goal is to increase the total AI cloud capacity to 480 MW in 2026 and further expand to 1.2 GW in 2027.

IREN has continued to expand its AI data center and computing power business in recent years, and Microsoft's five-year $9.7 billion contract is one of the key projects for expanding its AI cloud business. Horizon 1 has been delivered and approved by Microsoft. Coupled with Nvidia's certification of its GB300 NVL72 deployment, it shows that the company's AI infrastructure construction is gradually moving from production capacity planning to the actual delivery stage, and is driving investors' expectations for subsequent Microsoft projects and overall AI cloud business growth heating up.
