Formycon stock closed at €18.56 on Thursday after a choppy few months, with the share price roughly flat over 30 days and slightly weaker over 90 days. The market reaction looks muted compared with what just landed in the earnings. Revenue for Q2 2026 came in at €12.663m and the company swung to a small net profit of €0.372m, helped by a sharp improvement in adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation. The key question now is whether traders are underpricing that profit inflection.

Bulls argue that Formycon’s confirmed 2025–26 revenue guidance and the Phase III waiver for FYB206 have shifted the earnings profile toward profitable growth. The latest numbers partly back this up. H1 2026 revenue nearly tripled and adjusted EBITDA loss improved from €19.2m to €6.9m, which supports the claim that the cost base is scaling more slowly than revenue. FYB206 now contributes more than 40% of revenue, mainly from partnership milestones, which aligns with the thesis that capital is being recycled from late stage trials into commercialization. However, profitability is still fragile. The group only delivered a small Q2 net profit of €0.372m and cash declined to €51.8m as working capital absorbed funds. The earnings improvement story is real, but it is early and still heavily dependent on milestone recognition.
Bears focus on U.S. biosimilar volatility, legal risk on FYB206 and the quality of earnings. The H1 2026 print gives them mixed evidence. Revenue is heavily skewed to FYB206 partnership milestones, and management itself flags non linear revenue timing. That backs concerns that earnings may be lumpy rather than driven by steady prescription volumes. Cash fell from €68.8m to €51.8m while receivables and working capital climbed, which fits the worry that reported profit does not fully translate into cash. Management also highlights a complex IP and litigation backdrop for FYB206 and slower than hoped royalty growth for FYB202. On the other hand, the equity ratio of about 54% and reduced trailing 12 month loss of €25.132m versus €169.77m a year earlier challenge the idea of a stressed balance sheet.
