On Wednesday, Apple CEO Tim Cook and US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and other government officials attended the unveiling ceremony of a new manufacturing plant in Houston, Texas. Apple said that later this year, the factory will start production of Mac Mini desktop computers; parts of the factory area are already assembling AI servers for Apple's own use. This public appearance coincides with the last few weeks of Cook's term as CEO. On September 1, Cook will be re-elected as the executive chairman of the board of directors, and John Turnus, a senior Apple hardware executive, will take over as CEO.
