The Zhitong Finance App learned that gold stocks fluctuated higher. As of press release, China Gold International (02099) rose 13.35% to HK$212.2; Lingbao Gold (03330) rose 5.16% to HK$21.62; Chifeng Gold (06693) rose 2.35% to HK$37.48; and Zijin Mining (02899) rose 1.68% to HK$35.04.

According to the news, China Gold International announced that sales revenue for the first half of this year was US$914.2 million, up 57.5% year on year; mining operating profit reached US$620 million, up 124% year on year; profit attributable to company owners was about 507 million US dollars, up 153.31% year on year. Among them, sales revenue for the second quarter was US$461 million, up 50% year on year, and net profit of US$275.8 million, up 137% year on year. Chairman Hou Chenguang of the company said in the performance report that this is the brightest quarterly and half-year performance in the company's history.

Furthermore, the July PPI increase recently announced by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics fell short of market expectations. Combined with the CPI data released the previous day, the cooling of inflationary pressure further eased, and the market's expectations for the Fed's interest rate hike continued to cool down. Everbright Futures believes that the probability of the US interest rate hikes declined one after another in September or even during the year, but the gold price trend did not rise but fell. First, there is a possibility that a profitable settlement will come to an end. Second, it may be related to market liquidity fears caused by expectations of the Bank of Japan's interest rate hike. Overall, however, expectations for the Fed's interest rate hike in September declined or remained volatile at a high level as a whole.
