At 5:08 on August 14, 2026, a gas explosion occurred at the Yangmeishan coal mine in Lianyuan City, Hunan Province. Preliminary findings revealed that 52 workers were on duty, 44 were safely exiting the well, 7 were missing, and 1 was being rescued. At present, the city and county levels have organized emergency response, health and other relevant departments to carry out emergency rescue and treatment work on site, and the cause of the accident is being further investigated.
