At around 23:00 on August 13, the embankment on the east bank of the Jialu River under the Xinbei Ring Bridge in Chuanhui District, Zhoukou City, Henan Province collapsed due to incoming water from the upper reaches of the Jialu River and the squeezing of the shaying river roof. The Ministry of Emergency Management dispatched 200 rescue forces from China Energy Engineering, carrying 110 large-scale construction machinery and equipment such as motorized boat bridges, amphibious excavators, and loaders to urgently assist the Zhoukou disaster area. At 10 a.m. on the 14th, the above forces arrived at the scene to begin rescue work.
