06:25 AM EDT, 08/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Barclays increased its price target for RWE (RWE.F) to 72 euros from 68 euros, noting the German energy group's "superior" catalyst path, including the German capacity auctions in September and December. In a Friday note, the research firm said it also took into account the company's estimated "stronger" 2026 earnings base and higher near-term achieved power prices, alongside its increased stake in Germany-based transmission system operator Amprion and greater assumed value creation from medium-term growth capital expenditure. "We see a clear buying opportunity in RWE, with around 25% implied upside potential to our new PT. In our view, the RWE investment case remains very compelling, despite the stock's significant share price outperformance over the past year: we think investors are still underestimating RWE's potential for future growth and transformation, as well as the earnings quality improvement from regulated grids, contracted renewables and flexible generation," analysts said, retaining the overweight rating on the stock. As such, Barclays again lifted its EPS forecasts for 2026 through 2028, supported by RWE's strong results for the first half of 2026 and the larger-than-expected full-year guidance upgrade. Over the 2025 to 2031 period, an EPS compound annual growth rate of 12% is anticipated.
