Can you tell us about preparations for the conference? What are the expected results? Guo Jiakun: As the host of APEC in 2026, China will host the 3rd APEC Senior Officials Meeting and related meetings in Dalian, Liaoning Province from August 17 to 28. This meeting was the largest attended senior official meeting with the largest number of events. It will push for more cooperation results in various fields and mechanisms under the APEC framework and prepare for the November Leaders' Meeting. During the conference, a plenary session of the Senior Officials Meeting, as well as meetings of committees, working groups, and seminars under the Senior Officials Meeting will be held, covering various fields such as trade, transportation, food, customs, science and technology, energy, health, disaster mitigation, and anti-corruption, including nearly 130 conference events. More than 2,300 representatives from APEC member economies, the Secretariat, the Business Advisory Council, and the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council are expected to attend the conference. Dalian, where the conference was held, is a window city open to the outside world in Northeast China. It has a strong industrial base, excellent business environment, outstanding location advantages, beautiful scenery and comfortable living.
