11:35 AM EDT, 08/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Airbus (AIR.PA, AIR.F) found hydraulic system issues with an A320 aircraft flown by Air India that injured several people after a sudden altitude drop mid-flight on Aug. 4, Bloomberg News reported Friday. According to a preliminary assessment by the European planemaker seen by the news outlet, the aircraft lost systems controlling its pitch and tilt before functions returned to normal. The flight's captain also reportedly tested positive for illegal drugs. Twenty passengers on board the flight to Delhi, India, from Phuket, Thailand, and four crew members were injured as a result of the altitude loss. Airbus did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
