The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to the 13F regulatory documents submitted by Nvidia (NVDA.US) to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on August 14, as of June 30, the company held about 122.8 million shares in SpaceX (SPCX.US), a space exploration company owned by Elon Musk, with a market value close to US$21 billion; it also held approximately 214.8 million shares of Intel (INTC.US) with a market value of about US$30 billion. Together, the two surpassed US$51 billion, accounting for about 25% of Nvidia's total assets (approximately US$206.8 billion).

According to statistics, the total market value of Nvidia's holdings in the second quarter reached US$63.4 billion, and the total market value in the previous quarter was US$18.4 billion. The agency added 1 new share to its portfolio in the second quarter, holding a total of 8 stocks.

In the second quarter, Nvidia added 122.8 million SpaceX shares, accounting for 30.94% of its holdings, and increased its Nebius Group NV (NBIS.US) holdings by 21.659 million shares, accounting for 6.91% of its holdings. Furthermore, as of June 30, Nvidia also held shares in various companies such as Coherent Corp. (COHR.US), Generate Biomedicines Inc. (GENB.US), Nokia (NOK.US), and Synopsys (SNPS.US).

According to FactSet data, Nvidia is currently the sixth-largest shareholder of SpaceX. Musk himself is still in the top position with a holding position of about 850 billion US dollars, and Alphabet is in second place with about 78 billion US dollars.

However, since SpaceX was listed at $135 per share on June 12, its stock price fluctuated drastically. It once soared to $225 on the third day of listing, then gradually bottomed out, and fell to a new low of $104 in early August. As of August 14, SpaceX closed at $140, down about 18% from $170.86 at the end of June. Affected by this, the current market value of Nvidia's holdings has shrunk to about US$17.2 billion, and its books have been reduced by nearly US$4 billion.

This disclosure is the first time Nvidia has disclosed the specific value of its SpaceX holdings since investing in Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI. Earlier this year, XAI was incorporated into SpaceX, paving the way for the latter's unprecedented initial public listing.

According to information, Nvidia invested up to 2 billion US dollars in xAI in 2025 through a special purpose carrier (SPV). The carrier is designed using equity plus debt and is specifically used to purchase processors for xAI's large-scale computing power projects.

The value of Intel shares held by Nvidia has soared from three months ago. According to previous regulatory documents, the market value of this position was only about 9.5 billion US dollars as of the end of March. This investment dates back to last year, when Nvidia agreed to invest $5 billion in Intel and announced that the two sides would jointly develop chips for personal computers and data centers. This move was seen as an unexpected strategic move at the time to support this long-standing competitor, which is in deep trouble.
