Currently, 59 rivers across the country are still above alert, and major watershed floods will occur in the Taihu Lake basin. As of 9:00 today, 59 rivers in Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and other places are still overwarning, and 30 of them are overprotected. According to forecasts, from August 15 to 16, due to rainfall and upstream incoming water, major watershed floods will occur in the Taihu Lake basin. The Chuhe River, a tributary of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the Zhoukou to Jieshou River section of the middle tributary of the Huai River, and the section below the Tongjiang River in the main stream of the Heilongjiang River will maintain excessive warning; super-alert flooding may occur in some small to medium rivers in the torrential rain area of Zhejiang Province. From 8:00 a.m. on August 15 to 8:00 p.m. on the 16th, flash floods are likely to occur in northwestern Sichuan, southeastern Qinghai, and eastern Zhejiang. The Ministry of Water Resources issued an orange meteorological warning for flash floods at 8 o'clock today, maintaining the yellow flood warning and reminding the public to take precautions in areas affected by torrential rain and floods.
