South Korea said that negotiations with the US on strategic investment projects are continuing. Earlier, there were media reports that Washington was urging Seoul to speed up related plans. In response to an inquiry about the report on Saturday, an official from the South Korean president's office said that discussions are currently being held with the US through various channels, and the South Korean government is also dealing with bilateral trade issues through frequent communication. On Friday, it was reported that Washington is dissatisfied that South Korea has yet to announce specific projects under the 200 billion US dollar strategic investment commitment. The newspaper said that following similar communication at the end of last month, the US Department of Commerce once again sent an email to South Korea this week requesting Seoul to speed up the progress of projects related to equal tariffs. The newspaper said that the email hinted that if further delays were made, the matter might be reported to US President Trump. The South Korean presidential office official declined to confirm the details of the bilateral discussions and communication and response within the government.
