Listen to the news

Those following along with Compass Diversified (NYSE:CODI) will no doubt be intrigued by the recent purchase of shares by Larry Enterline, Independent Chairman of the company, who spent a stonking US$833k on stock at an average price of US$12.42. That increased their holding by a full 204%, which arguably implies the sort of confidence required for a shy sweet-natured nerd to ask the most popular kid in the school to go out on a date.

Compass Diversified Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent purchase by Larry Enterline is the biggest insider purchase of Compass Diversified shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of US$12.71. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. We do always like to see insider buying, but it is worth noting if those purchases were made at well below today's share price, as the discount to value may have narrowed with the rising price. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider purchases were made at close to current prices.

Compass Diversified insiders may have bought shares in the last year, but they didn't sell any. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.

What Might The Insider Transactions At Compass Diversified Tell Us?
