As US tech giants compete to raise capital for AI investments, Google's parent company Alphabet has hired banks to prepare to issue their first Australian dollar bonds. ANZ, one of the underwriters, said in an email statement that Alphabet may issue bonds for four maturities, up to 20 years. Alphabet issued $25 billion in bonds in the US dollar market earlier this month, and will also issue Swiss franc, pound, euro, Canadian dollar, and yen bonds, respectively, in 2026. The company also recently raised nearly $85 billion through equity financing.
