The Zhitong Finance App learned that Hewang Pharmaceutical (00013) rose nearly 9% in early trading. As of press release, it had risen 7.14% to HK$20.56, with a turnover of HK$48.5087 million.

According to the news, Huhuang Pharmaceutical announced that the SAFFRON phase III study with the combination therapy of voraxa (sevolitinib) and terisha (ositinib) compared with platinum dual-drug chemotherapy to treat patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (“EGFR”) mutant non-small cell lung cancer achieved positive top-line results, showing statistically and clinically significant improvements in progression-free survival (“PFS”) and overall survival (“OS”). The tumors of the patients in the study were accompanied by high levels of MET overexpression or amplification, and the disease progressed after previous treatment with Teresa.

The safety characteristics of the combination therapy with Warisal and Teresa are consistent with the safety of known drugs, and no new safety issues have been identified. The data will be published at an upcoming academic conference and shared with global regulators. Based on the SACHI phase III study, the combination therapy of Warisa and Teresa has been approved in China to treat locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer patients with EGFR mutations accompanied by MET amplification after receiving EGFR TKI treatment. Warisa was developed by AstraZeneca in collaboration with Hutchison Pharmaceuticals and commercialized by AstraZeneca.
