The Zhitong Finance App learned that Cyberport Chairman Chen Ximing said that the fifth phase of the Cyberport expansion project was completed in June of this year, and the total construction area is 40% higher than before. Currently, the office occupancy rate has exceeded 50%, and well-known technology companies such as Lenovo Group (00992) and “Hangzhou Six Xiaolong” have settled in one after another.

The market is concerned about whether Cyberport will face competition in response to the Hong Kong Government's push for a “Southern Finance and Northern Innovation and Technology” strategic layout, as well as the construction of the Northern Metropolitan Area and the Hong Kong-Shenzhen-Hetao Cooperation Zone. Chen Ximing said in this regard that Cyberport has a healthy competitive relationship with the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park and Science Park. The three focus on functional positioning while maintaining close collaboration.

In terms of computing power, Cyberport's current computing power scale is about 3000P, and the usage rate is close to full load. The HK$3 billion artificial intelligence funding scheme launched by the Government has so far received applications from about 40 organizations, of which about 30 have been approved. Chen Ximing said that Cyberport will make every effort to guarantee the market's computing power needs. As for the Shaling Data Park, which is planned to be launched in 2029 and has a computing power of up to 180,000 P, he is not worried about constituting competition, and believes that the supply of computing power “the more the better.”
