I learned from the National Forestry and Grass Administration that on August 17, the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification opened in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. With the theme of “Restoring Land and Rekindling Hope”, the conference will discuss and exchange on topics such as restoration of degraded land, sustainable land management, drought resilience, and grassland protection and restoration from 197 parties to the Convention, as well as representatives from the United Nations and other international organizations, civil society organizations, scientific research institutions, and enterprises. The Chinese government delegation will participate in a high-level dialogue on financing, drought relief and grassland, and advocate the establishment of an International Grassland Day to further promote the international community's continued deepening cooperation in grassland protection and restoration, and make positive contributions to the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
