On August 17, Taole Town, Pingluo County, Ningxia issued an information notice: On August 16, netizens reported that there was a “direct discharge of farm sewage, polluting groundwater” problem on the banks of the Yellow River in Shijiataizi Village in Taole Town. Our town attached great importance to it and organized forces to carry out inspection and disposal work as soon as possible. After verification, the dung dump site is located in a plot authorized by Mr. Zhao, a farmer in Shijiataizi Village. It covers an area of 1.8 acres, and is about 1.1 km in a straight line from the Yellow River. All the dung blocks are dry manure. Due to recent rain, accumulated water and channel return, cow dung in some areas of the site is thin and pasty, and there is no direct discharge of farm manure. In order to avoid environmental pollution, all the manure from the site has now been covered with soil and removed. In the next step, Taole Town will use this issue as a warning, step up the supervision and investigation of livestock and poultry farming manure, strengthen policy publicity and guidance, and guide farmers and growers to scientifically carry out the resource utilization of manure. Thank you to all netizens, friends, and media for their attention and supervision.
