On August 17, after 11 years of hard work by thousands of builders, significant progress was made in the construction of the Gaoligongshan Tunnel on the Baorui section of the Dali to Ruili Railway in Yunnan, an important component of the China-Myanmar international railway corridor. The tunnel entrance to the parallel guide hole of the No. 1 shaft was successfully completed. So far, the overall progress of the Gaoligong Mountain Tunnel has exceeded 70%. The Gaoligong Mountain Tunnel is the first extra-long railway tunnel in China to cross the Hengduan Mountains. The total length is 34.53 kilometers. The construction area has 17 types of strata and 19 fracture zones, covering almost all the poor geological conditions and major risks affecting tunnel construction.
