In July, crude coal production in industries above scale (hereinafter referred to as regulated industries) declined year-on-year. Crude oil production changed from decline to increase, natural gas production remained stable, and electricity production was stable and orderly. In July, industrial raw coal production was 340 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.1%; the average daily output was 1.07 million tons. From January to July, industrial raw coal production was 2.7 billion tons, down 2.9% year on year.

Energy production in July 2026

In July, crude coal production in industries above scale (hereinafter referred to as regulated industries) declined year-on-year. Crude oil production changed from decline to increase, natural gas production remained stable, and electricity production was stable and orderly.

I. Raw coal, crude oil and natural gas production and related conditions

Raw coal production declined year over year. In July, industrial raw coal production was 340 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.1%; the average daily output was 1.07 million tons.

From January to July, industrial raw coal production was 2.7 billion tons, down 2.9% year on year.

Crude oil production changed from decline to increase. In July, industrial crude oil production was 18.27 million tons, up 0.8% year on year, and decreased by 0.5% in June; the average daily output was 589,000 tons.

From January to July, industrial crude oil production was 127.69 million tons, an increase of 0.9% over the previous year.

The decline in crude oil processing has narrowed. In July, industrial crude oil processing volume was 53.11 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.8%. The decline was 1.9 percentage points narrower than in June; the average daily processing volume was 1.713 million tons.

From January to July, the amount of industrial crude oil processed according to regulations was 396.96 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.5%.

Natural gas production remains stable. In July, industrial natural gas production was 21.4 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year decrease of 0.9%; the average daily output was 690 million cubic meters.

From January to July, industrial natural gas production was 154.3 billion cubic meters, an increase of 1.2% over the previous year.

II. Electricity production

According to regulations, industrial electricity production is generally stable. In July, industrial power generation was 943.9 billion kilowatt-hours, a slight decrease of 0.1% over the previous year; the average daily power generation was 30.45 billion kilowatt-hours. From January to July, industrial power generation was 569.85 billion kilowatt-hours according to regulations, an increase of 3.0% over the previous year.

By type, in July, according to regulations, industrial thermal power increased from increase to decline, hydropower growth accelerated, nuclear power and solar power generation slowed down, and wind power changed from decline to increase. Among them, regulated industrial thermal power decreased by 3.5% year on year, with an increase of 0.5% in June; industrial hydropower increased by 6.7%, and the growth rate accelerated by 1.9 percentage points; regulated industrial nuclear power grew 6.6%, slowing by 1.9 percentage points; regulated industrial wind power grew 4.5%, down 5.6% in June; and regulated industrial solar power grew 5.6%, and the growth rate slowed by 8.6 percentage points.
