Missile Strike Hits ArcelorMittal's Ukraine Plant, Kills Two

06:22 AM EDT, 08/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- ArcelorMittal's (MT.AS) Ukrainian operation ArcelorMittal Kryvih Rih was struck by a missile over the weekend, leaving 13 employees and contractors injured and two dead. The pan-European steelmaker said Monday its plant was operational at the time of the attack, which damaged the main production facilities of the energy and blast furnace production. Plant production processes were then partially halted. ArcelorMittal added that relevant specialists are evaluating the extent of the damage and the potential timing of restoring operations.
