Hong Kong Stock Exchange: Renewed contract with Group CEO Chen Yiting for three years

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on August 17, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange announced that the HKEx board of directors has approved a three-year contract renewal with Group Chief Executive Chen Yiting, for a term of office from March 1, 2027 to February 28, 2030 (including the first and last two days). Pursuant to section 70 (1) of the Securities and Futures Ordinance, Chan Yi-ting's appointment has been approved by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. According to reports, Ms. Chan joined the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in January 2020 and has been the Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since March 1, 2024.

HKEx Chairman Tang Ka-shing said, “I am pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has today approved Chan Yi-ting to be re-elected as CEO of the HKEx Group. The new term of office will begin in March next year for a period of three years. Since taking office in early 2024, she has led the team to plan strategies and forge ahead. She is committed to building a dynamic multi-asset ecosystem, connecting China and the world, connecting capital and opportunities, making the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's foundation permanent, and consolidating Hong Kong's position as a leading international financial center.”

Tang Jiacheng continued, “Under Chen Yiting's leadership, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange keeps pace with the times, strives for excellence, continues to expand its business layout, optimize the listing system, enhance infrastructure and market microstructure, and enhance the competitiveness of our market.
